☀️ I don’t know about you... but I’m cravi ☀️ I don’t know about you... but I’m craving a packed suitcase and an alfresco lunch today! What else is new!? 🙈 These photos were taken a few years ago while visiting the Netherlands 🇳🇱 @lancegputnam and I had left Amsterdam for the day to enjoy a picnic lunch under a windmill. We packed a blanket, wine, hummus, veggies, crackers, and chocolates! It was one of the most peaceful lunches we’ve ever enjoyed together. I was so relaxed that I even dozed off and took a quick windmill nap 😴 The setting was too perfect not to.
Manatee facts to SHARE! At first glance they mig Manatee facts to SHARE!

At first glance they might seem like simple grey swimming masses, but manatees have some fascinating secrets to share! Here are 4 mind-blowing facts you didn’t know about the lovable manatee.

Manatees are simply endearing; they are truly the gentle roly-polys of the sea. What’s not to love about a charming manatee? I know I’ve enjoyed observing them in the wild both in Everglades National Park and Crystal River, Florida.

@honestecotours - Sustainable Nature Tours has one of the most unique boats in the eco-tourism industry! Affectionately named SQUID, their main tour boat is one of the only lithium ion battery electric passenger boats in the United States. If that wasn't awesome enough, it's powered by SOLAR PANELS! Renewable energy powers Honest Eco Tours, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. But wait there's more, their eco-tours are single-use plastic free to limit plastic pollution in the ocean. Instead they fill reusable water bottles guests can use during their excursion!

These two cats are very similar in size, shape, and pattern. To make matters worse bobcats and lynx often share the same habitats in North America.

If you find yourself needing a quick how to guide for telling the differences between bobcats and lynx, here’s some quick features to look for!

Did you know - there are three cats with the widest ranges spanning much of North America – the bobcat, lynx, and puma.

🐾 Personally, I’ve only caught the blur of a darting bobcat, the brief passing of a lynx, and haven’t even seen the tracks of a puma. North America’s felines are NOT easy to see!

📸 With the help of @ryan.pennesi.photography remote trail cameras, we’ll get a chance to peek into the secretive lives of three of North America’s favorite felines.

MOVE OVER.... Double-crested cormorants are common MOVE OVER....
Double-crested cormorants are common throughout the Florida Keys, but that doesn’t make them any less unique!
Cormorants are know for their ☀️ sun bathing, with their wings stretched out wide. They have less preen oil than other water loving birds- like ducks 🦆 So instead their feathers get soaked when they’re fishing. But wet feathers likely make it easier for cormorants to dive underwater with better agility and speed! 🐟
You can’t visit Key West without seeing their ic You can’t visit Key West without seeing their iconic chickens...... EVERYWHERE! But these feral birds are quite the wildlife issue, mainly because tourists and locals love feeding them. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE CHICKENS!

Historically this population began from domestic chickens and cockfighting roosters being let loose on the island. Now the @keywestwildlifecenter has an agreement with the city of Key West to provide rescue, medical care, and adoption services for the feral chickens! They work to provide the best possible care for rescued chickens and even rehomed them to farm sanctuaries to limit the environmental burden on the island’s wildlife. WIN for the rehabilitated chickens and WIN for native animals!
